I am always open to new challenges. The past several years in China have been an exciting opportunity to be of service to others, while learning new things about the world we share and the community where I live. I read and contribute comments and suggestions to authors of papers in the Geosciences and Engineering, helping our lab achieve its publication goals. As an educator, I believe teachers are the real learners, in a guided experience of discovery. In my own work, I combine creative techniques honed in retail display with theory and research practices from sociology and geography to explore real world problems through action research. I work collaboratively, through iterative processes to coproduce strategic intelligence that supports the aims and objectives of organizations.
1. Research Associate February 2011 to Present • Assist the lab and a related company, Wuda GeoStar, with language auditing, routine language editing of the English language journal GSIS, correspondence, website content, software manuals, proposals, contracts, and abstracts. • Work with a private company requires knowledge of commercial settings and practices in North America. 2. Instructor of Record Spring 2013 to present High level scientific writing and methods • At Wuhan University, PhD students must publish one to three papers in SCI- listed international peer reviewed journals, thus I teach English composition and technical writing for the geosciences and related disciplines. • PhD candidates hail from several countries including Spain, Germany, Algeria, Russia, and China. Classroom discussion is in several languages, group discussions, written assignments are in English as a research language. • Classroom activities center on developing personal writing approaches and hands on labs designed to enhance critical thinking skills. I use Multidimensional scaling and qualitative methods to systematically evaluate and adjust content and teaching approach.
Design, plan, and install seasonal trim, store décor, and displays
Responsible for in-store visual standards , seasonal décor, special events, sales and promotions. Worked closely with senior management team and subordinates to execute corporate directives. Trained and developed staff.
