    Responsible for coordinating promotions for contract acquisition. Fact finding missions taken to Albania, Tunisia and Bulgaria. Head office program manager for the EEC funded “Urgent Schools and Prisons PHARE Program”. The project was a recovery program developed after the fall of the regime to support the education and the judicial sectors. Over 20 schools and 4 prisons were rehabilitated or constructed.

    During my tenure at Techniplan, provided consulting services in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Africa for the United Nations, World Bank, EU the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign governments. Activities ranged from project management to undertaking specific socio-economic assignments including: socio-economic sector expert for the identification, preparation, and monitoring and evaluation of development projects; socio-economic sector expert for feasibility studies, appraisal missions and economic evaluations, for rural development projects. Organized and supervised the preparation of international bids for tenders launched by international organizations and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs especially for programs involved in socio-economic development. Identified partners and firms to organize temporary associations or sub-contracts to carry out specific projects. Acted as program manager of technical assistance projects: preparation of work plans and budgets, and supervision there-of; maintaining contacts with international co-operating agencies such as the FAO, EU and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also government officials of various countries in order to follow contracts. Covered the position of socio-economist on projects located in Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, Cameroon, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, Morocco, Turkey, Romania and Russia. During this period, also took four independent missions as socio-economist to Senegal, Ivory Coast, Benin, and Ethiopia (three with the FAO - Investment Centre and one with an NGO).
