Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following) * Timely closure and reporting of the monthly management accounts. * Manage all the accounts payable and cashbook processes for the region. * Lead and mentor the finance team, managing and appraising a robust and driven finance team to support the operation. * Compliance with all Statutory and Tax reporting requirements for the assigned Legal Entity including acting as focal point for annual audits, tax returns and other legal filings. * Preparation and analysis of all Financial Planning (forecast and budget) in line with Corporate schedules, and as per ad hoc requests of Business Unit lead and VP Finance. * Act as business partner to General Manager and Operational Managers to develop tactical business plan and maximise growth opportunities. * Support the commercial aspects of the business for deal reviews when required, analysis of risk versus reward in commercial value terms, as well as budgeted costs, pricing and margins. * Contribute to continual process improvements to develop and streamline existing processes and to ensure robust controls exist across the Business Unit (including control points managed by non-finance personnel). Ensure strict adherence to the Delegation of Authority policy and travel and expenditure policy. * Development of specific “operational” KPI’s and financial models, linking business development activities, customer opportunities to investment appraisal and market penetration. * Ensure that Balance Sheets are fully reconciled on monthly basis. * Provide operational finance expertise to General Manager and Operational Managers in the reporting unit by analysing the manufacturing and service data (material costs, direct and indirect costs, overheads allocation, efficiency, overtime, lead-time, asset utilisation, etc.).
Financial Controller of the Well Intervention business which undertake in the manufacturing and rental of Pressure Control equipment. Responsible for overseeing all month end reporting for a number of entities into the group accounting system, which entails a full Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow statement for the period. Discussing, implementing and developing strategic and compliance policies as part of Senior Management. Key Achievements: • Management of a team of 3 accountants/assistant accountants with dotted reporting lines for further accountants in Singapore and accounting services team in the UK. • Ensuring that group finance policies are implemented in a timely manner once issued, working with all departments to ensure their compliance. • Development of company reporting models suitable for use across multiple companies to aid the completion of group reporting schedules • Managing and updating of company costing rates for use on job costing • Liaising with all internal and external stakeholders such as financial providers and treasury to ensure the effective management of the companies cash facilities • Exposure to the strategic decision making process of a group of companies with an annual turnover of £35m • Managing the team deadlines to ensure the below reporting requirements such as management accounts, forecast and budget submissions are met
Responsible for all month end reporting for a number of entities into the group accounting system, which entails a full Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow statement for the period. Also, relaying this information to the management team in Aberdeen in the form of reports and a finance management meeting held on a monthly basis. Responsible for the full preparation for the years between 2013- 2014, for both budget and forecast submissions for the entity which has turnover of £23m and over 300 staff. Key Achievements: • Experience in the completion of a published set of Financial statements along with cooperating with a full PWC audit of the company • Budget and Forecast submissions to the Board and group reporting team, involving all departments in costing forecasts, sale forecasts and capital expenditure forecasts. • Working continually to weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly deadlines. Which include Profit and Loss Analysis across different locations/department/products, overhead analysis, cashflow forecasts and other ad-hoc finance reports such as sales by country/customer • Assisting with the costing of the company products and ensuring after the products were delivered that the expected gross margin was achieved on these products • Excellent Microsoft Excel and report writing skills, along with a broad knowledge of 2 ERP Sytems (Microsoft Dynamics AX and EFACS) after being involved in the successful implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX • Exposure to information needs of Directors, Senior Managers, Group Finance Reporting Team, Audit Teams (Both Internal and External) and a wide variety of Departments. • Assisting with the preparation and compliance of key risk management policies such as Bribery and Corruption Act, Insurance Renewals and Going Concern submissions • The successful training of two new employees working as assistant accountants to myself
