I was contracted as a HSE/ Hazmat Manager for the cleaning and coating of oil pipelines for Aramco in Saudi Arabia. My duties consisted of handling all hazardous waste on the receiving end in the GOSP. I was the safety officer and in charge of the fire watch. My permit receive course has been done through Aramco where I was in charge of managing the receiving end in the GOSP throughout the cleaning and coating of the pipelines. I was team supervisor along the pipeline to remove and replace flanges and T pieces and was engaged with the rigging. I was responsible for all Hazardous spillages. I was in charge of all skilled and unskilled labour with their instruction and safety.
I was Hazmat Manager. My duties consisted of responding to Hazardous spills onshore and offshore. Managing all spill response equipment. I did training in the preventing of oil spills. I marketed oil absorbent products, bioremediation of contaminated land, responding to accidents such as oil spills. I also did tank cleaning and confined space entry. I was in charge of training and managing the staff, assessment of client’s risks and identifying oil spill equipment and absorbents needed. I arranged where necessary the disposal of Hazardous waste and identified the correct needed protocol. I maintained up to date MSDS on all products. I was involved in the sampling of oil contamination and the assessment of volumes of contamination. I helped identify causes of oil spills and implement appropriate measures to safely restore the contaminated area/s.
I was the owner of SCT for 6 years. SCT was a Hazmat Response Company and was involved with all HSE duties. As owner of SCT I gained all the work experience in the Hazmat industry. I had my own absorbent and spill equipment agency.
