• Repair of mechanical equipment and structures to approved procedures, standards and schedules. • Ensure the reliability and integrity of the mechanical equipment repairs by application of workshop quality control procedures. • Custodian of workshop equipment and engineering movables. • Co-ordinate repair work and ensure sufficient and suitable resources and equipment are available to correctly complete all mechanical workshop and external vendor repairs and testing to agreed schedules. • Initiate and develop specific procedures, work instructions, repair plans, inspection and testing schedules and ensure workshop compliance. Establish the mechanical quality assurance system and act as the management nominated representative. • Develop scheduled maintenance requirements for the workshop within the SAP maintenance management system. Ensure all work history and data is entered into the SAP system.
• Responsible for the inspection and integrity of static plant equipment covered by statutory and company codes. Process areas covered were Hydrocracker unit, platformer, Naphtha Minus and Kero hydro treating units. • Determine the appropriate schedules and techniques for inspection of refinery equipment. • NDT inspections to determine suitability for further use, and remnant life. • Visual inspection of welds. • Provide technical assistance to other assets during major turnarounds. • Checking the quality, safety and practicality of repair methods proposed by Shell and contractor personnel. • Quality checks on documentation for new equipment. • Goods inwards inspections.
