As the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Representative to the GCC Region, I lead efforts to build partnerships with governments, the private sector, and other key stakeholders to advance WFP’s mission of ending hunger and enhancing food security globally. With over 30 years in the humanitarian sector, I’ve held leadership roles in challenging environments, including Myanmar, Yemen, and the Philippines, overseeing life-saving operations during major crises. My experience also includes strategic roles in Japan and emergency responses in Nepal, Kenya, and Southern Africa. Beginning my career with WFP in Sudan in 1989, I’ve worked across Africa and at WFP headquarters in Rome, developing expertise in managing large-scale operations and fostering global collaborations. Born in Kenya and educated in Foreign Service at Georgetown University, I bring a deep understanding of diverse cultures, which enriches my professional and personal life. Always open to connecting with professionals in the humanitarian, government, and private sectors, I’m eager to explore ways we can address food security challenges together.
