Stephanie is a health specialist who works across policy, research and practice to support the implementation of people-centred health service delivery reforms. She started her career at The Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto, Canada), and has worked at the Provincial Health Services Authority (British Columbia, Canada), the World Bank and the World Health Organization (Headquarters; Regional Offices: Asia-Pacific, Europe and Central Asia; Country Offices: Cambodia and Uzbekistan) in various capacities. Since joining WHO in 2013, Stephanie has helped to develop and implement a number of global, regional and national policies and programmes on: integrated people-centred health services; human resources for health; primary health care; health policy and systems research; heath emergencies; and universal health coverage. She has also played an instrumental role in supporting nursing policy development – notably through her contributions to policy dialogue on the nursing workforce where the first State of the World's Nursing Report and global campaign on nursing and midwifery (NursingNow) were conceived. In 2019 Stephanie joined the Health Systems Development team in the WHO Representative Office in Cambodia to provide technical assistance and operational support to the Ministry of Health and Provincial Health Departments on universal health coverage, with a focus on primary care and human resources for health. The following year Stephanie pivoted to the Health Emergencies/Incident Management Team (IMT) where she supported the Royal Government of Cambodia's early response to COVID-19, working together with the Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Departments and international development partners on clinical management, infection prevention and control and local preparedness. Stephanie, a Canadian national with Vietnamese heritage, is an independent consultant currently based in Bonn, Germany. -- Skills: Policy analysis; policy and programme design and implementation; knowledge translation; strategic and operational planning and governance; writing and strategic communications; delivery of health care; monitoring, evaluation and learning; and economic evaluation.
