New Haven, Connecticut, United States
Hi, I’m Stephanie Hoos, an experienced educator and emerging clinical social worker with over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families through literacy interventions, social-emotional support, and inclusive, family-based care. I’m currently pursuing dual Master’s degrees in Clinical Social Work and Women’s & Gender Studies at Southern Connecticut State University, where I’m deepening my practice at the intersection of education, advocacy, and mental health. My approach is rooted in the belief that people thrive when they are seen, heard, and supported within nurturing environments. I bring warmth, structure, and deep listening to all my work—whether I’m guiding a middle schooler through reading and writing difficulties, helping a teen with executive function, supporting a professional seeking next steps or a new career opportunity, or partnering with a parent during family transitions. My professional background includes teaching at The Windward School, King School, and ACES Academic Programs, where I collaborated with educators, families, and mental health professionals to meet both academic and emotional needs. I’ve also served in DEI leadership roles, consistently centering equity and inclusion in my practice. Currently, I work as the Front Office Manager at Cold Spring School in New Haven, staying grounded in community-based care while completing my graduate training. My first internship is at the Women & Family Life Center, where I hope to support women as they navigate major life transitions. Whether you’re looking for academic coaching, subject-based tutoring, or family-centered guidance, I’m here to support you with kindness, curiosity, and compassion.
