With a background in marketing, in 2023 I expanded my skillset and designed an entire website, built it with my team and we launched it in the first week of 2024. I utilised best-practise UX design, improved copy and worked on SEO to make the website all that it is. Previously I worked as the Marketing and Communications Officer at Polaron Language and European Services to help organisations connect with people from all walks of life. I had the opportunity to put on industry forums and produce the weekly TV episode 'Ticker Talks' to promote diverse organisations and community leaders in Australia, and to inform people about topics related to multilingual communications, languages and cultures. The episodes reached over 97,000 views in my last month of producing the show. Before 2021, I interned with organisations in the not-for-profit sector. It was inspiring working with the communication teams at Sacred Heart Mission and the Centre for Adolescent Health. These experiences further highlighted how crucial branding, strategy, SEO and social media is through its impact on an organisation’s viability, networking and aims.
Crafted and implemented social media strategies for an educational nonprofit and social enterprise, focusing on audience engagement and brand growth. Responsible for creating Facebook ad content, including both static and video ads, for service based clients. Proficient in social media tools and analytics to drive targeted ad performance.
Took time off to travel solo around Australia. Drove over 30,000km through some of the remotest locations in Australia, whilst still on my P plates.
Role included social media management, email marketing, copywriting, organising weekly Ticker Talks TV episodes, executing community forums on multicultural topics and managing communication interns.
Providing exceptional customer service, obtaining individual and group sales targets, processing stock, opening and closing the store, banking, ordering money, updating timesheets, keeping track of team KPIs and creating store goals to help obtain this.
Duties included writing blog content and tweets, creating infographics, flyers and other visuals. As well as developing the Centre’s LinkedIn page, distributing e-newsletters, pitching ideas to senior management and presenting to staff during meetings. Also filmed and edited promotional and informative video content and supported the communications team at professional events and conferences.
