With over a decade of consulting and actuarial experience, I have advised public and private sector entities in global healthcare and insurance markets. During my career I’ve enjoyed the pace, variety and client-facing nature of consulting, balanced with working on meaningful, societally relevant issues within the public service.
* Modelled the future cost trajectory of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), at over $20 billion annually. * Delivered the annual financial sustainability report, as well as deep dive reports on mortality and non-mortality exits from the Scheme. * Assisted in the public release of NDIS market monitoring reports and dashboards, and performed deep dive reports on markets with particularly low utilisation. * Analysed large confidential unit record datasets for Scheme participants with disability in SAS, Excel and SAS Visual Analytics to regularly monitor and gain valuable insights on emerging experience. * Performed project management across a range of projects, and was responsible for resourcing, delegating work and overseeing teams with 2-4 junior staff. * Formally coached and appraised junior staff, including regular mentoring sessions and providing constructive feedback.
* Delivered consulting, strategy and policy services for healthcare and insurance clients in the public and private sectors, in Australia and the US. * Fostered client/partner relationships, trained and supported users of the company’s analytics-driven SaaS products, and delivered financial projections and models. * Identified new areas of opportunity with prospective and existing clients, and wrote numerous proposals, tenders and engagement letters.
* Based in the Actuarial team at Asta Capital Ltd (UK) * Advised Lloyd’s of London insurance syndicates on quarterly claims reserving, solvency capital requirements through stochastic modelling, calculation of balance sheet technical provisions, assessment of risk metrics and comprehensive testing of capital models.
