About

I am an independent frames conservator currently practicing in the UK. My specialisms are in historic frames, gilded surfaces and timber substrates. I have extensive experience in conservation framing methods for panel paintings, and in the conservation aspects of touring exhibitions, both national and international. I have wide experience in project managing conservation projects and programmes, and of working in historic interiors on conservation treatments. I currently work for national institutions and historic private collections on the conservation of frames and gilded surfaces, collection surveys and handling/ packing and display plans and recommendations. My career to date has included positions such as International Programme Frames Conservator at the National Portrait Gallery London, and Conservation Project Manager at the Royal Collection Trust.
