I work as freelance bioanalytical and mass spectrometry expert for pharma and biotech companies. The business idea of my micro company smv3.ch is to bring more confidence to drug discovery projects through earlier use of biomarker measurements. 26 years of industry experience in scientific leadership and all analytical aspects of drug discovery allow me to evaluate projects and technologies and to come up with creative ideas for problem solving. Side activities include lectorship at the University of Basel and the design and production of biotech websites. Languages: I speak german (mother tongue) and fluently english, french, italian and norwegian.
After retirement from Roche I work as consultant for drug discovery, mainly for analytical / bioanalytical aspects. Currently I manage outsourced DMPK studies together with a partner company. Management of the Applied Analytics Section (Department 'Discovery Technologies' of Pharma Research Basel). The section comprised two LC/MS and GC/MS labs doing quantitative biomarker, bioassay readout measurements and metabolomics, an NMR lab for biological and other special applications and a microarray research lab doing multiplex and nanovolume protein assay development. It was in charge of developing methods for unmet analytical needs of pharma research Basel.
