The Youth Reference Group (YRG) at Headspace Fremantle is a group of young people aged between 16 and 25 who volunteer their time to advise Headspace on the youth perspective and ensure the service stays youth-centred. During my time at Headspace, I have: - Attended monthly meetings and, along with YRG members, been consulted on service issues, service changes, new programs and other issues requiring a youth perspective - Participated in and assisted with Headspace events in schools and local communities to promote mental health to young people - Attended Consortium Advisory Group meetings to give updates about YRG operations to other mental health services and advocacy groups, and through this, worked with these organisations who have provided mental health training to YRG members.
