The NDF is a risk pool for extreme weather risks experienced in developing countries, managed by Global Parametrics. It is a public private partnership between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, KfW, acting on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and Hannover Re. The Advisory Council (AC) provides guidance to the pool manager of the involved entities on the developmental, investment/risk and ESG expectations of the limited partners.
Supervises and expands KfW's climate related insurance investments globally. Serves on several boards of financial institutions, investment funds and a climate insurance start-up.
Supported KfW board member, Dr. Norbert Kloppenburg, in his role as German expert on the UN Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Finance; Covering the working group on financial instruments in EU blending.
