I am passionate about Lean value creation, evidence-based decision making and innovation from a technology and business perspective. My work experience is in supporting organisations on their journey to Operational Excellence in Manufacturing, Quality, Industrialisation, and Sales & Operations Planning. I emphasise the opportunities digitalisation offers for advancing data analysis and automation as fuel for Lean optimisation. My prior domain expertise includes Automotive, Pharma, and Food industries. I hold Master‘s degrees in Production Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, and in Power Engineering & Engineering Thermophysics from Tsinghua University (Beijing). I conducted my Master‘s thesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT (Cambridge, MA). On top of that, I got a PhD in Management (Business Innovation & Production Management) at the University of St. Gallen. 大家好。叫我艾希!
As Global Technology Manager at GF Piping Systems, I led programs & projects centered around technology strategy for our production network and drove the evaluation and introduction of innovative technologies.
I led a cross-functional project to evaluate the potential of machine learning time-series forecasting of sales numbers to optimize production planning for ultra fresh products. The core of my work was implementing a data-based S&OP process for several businesses with data visualization and KPI dashboards at its center. In addition to that, I was part of process optimization projects, conducted a maturity assessment study and presented the results to the management.
Institute of Technology Management ITEM - Production Management Division - Operational Excellence Group I acquired, led and executed consulting projects for manufacturing companies (predominantly pharmaceutical) on how to shape their improvement programs to achieve Operational Excellence. The second focus was measuring and benchmarking performance in manufacturing and quality, turning that data into valuable insight and thereby enabling evidence-based decision making. I also redesigned our graduate level course on quantitative methods in supply & operations management and taught regularly.
Within the department of innovation management, I worked on industry consulting projects streamlining the R&D organisations of two mechanical engineering companies. I designed a survey aimed to identify waste, analysed the results and derived the improvement measures to be taken. Besides that, I did research on set based engineering projects.
