I spent years in Product Management figuring out why some technology products click and others don't. The answer is almost always the same: the teams behind them identified a real problem - one that actually matters to the people it affects - and understood it deeply enough to get it right. That obsession found a new home. Today I lead a team of Sales Engineers at InterSystems - bridging what our data platform can do with what customers actually need to get done. The job is equal parts technical problem-solving, people leadership, and translating technology into business value. My title says manager, but I still write code, build demos, and get into the weeds - because staying close to the technology is what keeps me useful. What I share here: - Discoveries from applying InterSystems IRIS to real partner use cases - the data platform is one of the best-kept secrets in the industry, and I intend to change that - Behind-the-scenes of building and leading a technical team - Takes on where technology actually delivers and where it overpromises - usually the gap is more interesting than either side If you work with data, build technical products, or care about high-performing engineering teams - connect with me. Body and mind stay in balance. Calisthenics has been my daily reset for years - it trains coordination, not just individual muscles.
Leading a team of eight Sales Engineers in the DACH region, helping customers solve complex data challenges with InterSystems IRIS, Health Connect, and IRIS for Health. My job is to keep the team sharp and unblocked - technically credible in front of customers, clear on business value in front of decision makers. I still get hands-on with the technology. That's what keeps the feedback loop honest. The result: a team that earns trust faster - with customers and internally.
I owned the interoperability product area for InterSystems IRIS - data connectivity, API orchestration, and workflow automation at enterprise scale. The platform runs mission-critical systems in healthcare, finance, and government worldwide. I shaped language interoperability across Java, .NET, Node.js, and Python, including the xDBC, ADO.NET, and DB-API connectivity that most customers depend on to connect into IRIS. I built the technical partnership with Kong, giving joint customers a clear path to managing and securing APIs across their IRIS deployments. I led a UI/UX modernization initiative that directly contributed to winning new customers - without disrupting the existing workflows that production systems depend on.
I focused on implementing and marketing a toolkit to build mobile applications and connect them to an enterprise backend solution. This includes a framework for building mobile web applications, synchronizing data models between client and server and providing effective means to build secure application logic on the backend. I also supported companies in building mobile applications (web and native) with a focus on user experience.
