Planmeesters is een onafhankelijke entiteit binnen Thomas More van waaruit burgers en KMO's worden geholpen bij het opstellen en indienen van dossiers tot het bekomen van een omgevingsvergunning waarbij de medewerking van een architect niet is verplicht. Voor veel toepassingen zonder structurele werken, is in Vlaanderen geen medewerking van een architect verplicht om een omgevingsvergunning aan te vragen. Maar de werken zijn vaak wél vergunningsplichtig en het is niet evident om de juiste plannen en gegevens te voorzien die nodig zijn om zo’n vergunning aan te vragen via Omgevingsloket Vlaanderen. Bovendien is het indienen op zich voor velen ook een hele uitdaging waardoor veel dossiers niet of gedeeltelijk volledig zijn en de doorlooptijd van een eenvoudige vergunningsaanvraag erg lang kan worden.
