Palermo, Sicily, Italy
I performed in venues such as Jazzahead! Bremen (DE), Festivalle (IT), Boullard Musique (CH) for Yamaha Music Europe, A to Jazz in Bulgaria, the University of Applied Science of Berlin, Blue Note MI, Casa del Jazz Rome, and Festival di Spoleto (IT) among others. I performed in productions with Peter Erskine, Monica Mancini, Greg Field, Raphael Gualazzi, Fabrizio Bosso, Salvatore Bonafede and Nico Gori in ensembles ranging from combo to jazz and symphony orchestra and collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as John Serry, Mimmo Cafiero and Matteo Mancuso. I collaborate with Markbass, a leading Italian company in the world of bass amplifiers, and he is an endorser of Dogal Handmade Strings. I published my electric bass course for Federiscores.it. With Matteo Mancuso, I recorded "The Journey", released by Mascot Label Group, known for artists such as Steve Vai, Joe Bonamassa, and Toto. In support of this project, I participated in tours in Italy and Europe and in music videos of the singles Silkroad, Drop D, and Paul Position. I'm a Ph.D. candidate with a research grant in artistic research at Benevento Conservatory with the project "Timbral and musical developments of the Electric Bass: analysis of the past and future perspectives through writing new repertoire". My focus is on renewing and expanding the electric bass instrumental possibilities and repertoire in a contemporary jazz setting. Drop the Bass is, in fact, also an expression of my research, where I combine the sounds of acoustic and electronic jazz with fusion-style compositions. Drop the Bass is also an ongoing music video series. For this quintet, I have chosen musicians with whom I have collaborated for a decade: Fabiano Petrullo and Carla Restivo on saxophones, Valerio Dainotti on piano and keyboards, and Riccardo Salvatore on drums. I won the scholarship in Production and Arrangement at CET School of Mogol, the 2018 Premio Nazionale delle Arti Jazz (a competition among all Italian Conservatoires), the 2020 Chicco Bettinardi Award with the band #RedingProject, and the best soloist award at the Enzo Randisi. I graduated with honors in electric bass and earned a degree in classical double bass from the Palermo Conservatory. I studied ensemble music at the Open Jazz Club with Mimmo Cafiero. I was selected for the European Jazz's Cool Artist Residency, funded by MiBac and Erasmus+, and performed my music with Bebo Ferra in Rome and Berlin.

Electric Bass, Improvisation, Ensemble Music
I composed, recorded and played for the exhibition "Colours of the Soul". I used differents basses from 6 strings to fretless and manipulated sounds with electronics. More than 100 photo portraits watercolour painted by Eleonora Reina. A project that wants to reveal the dimension that lies beyond any apparent difference, above the identity of gender, culture, religious faith, political or social belonging. The message it carries is that “everything is one and in everyone there is everything”: we are light, we are vibration, we are color. Each individual carries within him an extraordinary potential, just waiting to be expressed. In support and as a means for all this to take place there is cooperation, synergy, the dimension of interdependence. And it is precisely through the synergy that the colors of the soul take shape, also making use of music composed ad hoc by Stefano India. Each image tells a story, each story tells the beauty made of light, colors and sounds. In an age like ours, at the height of contradictions, in which the world seems to fragment and divide itself more and more, in taking sides against each other, in increasingly rampant alienations and aberrations, the colors of the soul become the interpreter of positive signs of the profound change already taking place in the consciences of humanity.
