My background has been developing on two different chemical fields: academic (PhD) and industrial (chemical companies) During my PhD I increased and broaden my knowledge in enantioselective homogeneous catalysis and in the design, synthesis and structural characterization of peptidomimetics with anti-tumoral properties. This activity is documented by six international peer-reviewed articles, posters and oral presentations at international conferences. After the PhD I have started my carrer in R&D chemical companies departments focusing my activities on the development of new and innovative products paying particularly attention to the "time-to-market", the regulatory and patent resctrictions. In both fields, I have developed this capabilities and skills: - being result-oriented; - managing research projects proficiently; - co-operating dynamically and in a pro-active manner with the members of a team; - putting in light good results of own research projects; - paying attention to the customer needs; - monitoring the research and the business directions by reading regularly specific patents and papers.
* Handling technical and burocratic tasks for the team members to keep projects running smoothly (reference products: MATT resins) * Synthesis and scaling-up of waterborne polyurethanes (reference business: hard & soft coatings)
- synthesis, characterization of waterborne polyurethane dispersions by the most important industrial approaches (e.g. pre-polymer, acetone, organic solvents) in order to meet the market needs (related business: paper, textile, leather and synthetic leather, ceramics, automotive, personal-care, cosmetic); - scale-up of WPUD (Water PolyUrethane Dispersions) from lab scale to industrial scale.
The activity is mainly referred to: - Test to simulate the performance of different polymer-based products in the industrial production of paper (eg. coated paper, luxury packaging, natural paper...); - Cooperate with the Research and Development units in order to find new and innovative products strictly closed to the market needs; - Customer care;
- Research activity on new formulations by synthetic approaches; - Customer care; - Quality control assistant
- Enantioselective transition metal catalyzed reactions by means of P,N ligands through combinatorial and supramolecular approaches Supervisor: Prof. Piarulli (University of Insubria); - organic synthesis of natural products; - analytical analysis on organic compounds: HPLC, GC, NMR;
Internship in the research group of Prof. Cesare Gennari (Univeristy of Milan) working on the synthesis of supramolecular P-ligands and their applications to rhodium-catalyzed hydrogenations of substrates with potential industrial applications
