Stefan Lechner is currently retired and still actively involved in qualitative data analysis for a number of specific projects at the kenniscentrum Noorderruimte. Stefan Lechner received his bachelor in Hotel Management from the Hotel Management School Leeuwarden in 1991. In 2013 he received his MSc in Business Studies with distinction from the University of Amsterdam. Previously, Stefan was a Manager with several companies, including Thuiszorg Drenthe, Pitney Bowes Management Services, ISS Support Services, and the Compass Group. Stefan was project leader at the innovatiewerkplaats Health Space Design and lecturer at the institute for Facility Management at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. His research interests are in the areas of health care environment and organizational behavior.

Previous research in nursing home design, outpatient hospital design, grassroots in the communitiy of Groningen, wayfinding in a hospital, domotica, productivity in a activity based work environment, interview analysis, interrater agreement in qualitative research, use of CAQDAS.
