Zurich, Switzerland
I use my knowledge and experience to support Zurich's change to agile. During my MBA in 2006, operations professor Tom Mullen triggered my lean thinking. I started doing research in the domain of lean services. Now I make it happen. I am agile, understand agile management, business analysis and implementation. Scrum.org, SAFe and DSDM certified. MBA, B.Sc., PMP.
I make sure Zurich Invest's customer service has a running application landscape that develops to continuously support our fast growing customer base. Agile Coach to Zurich Invest and Zurich Insurance. Elected by the executive board as change ambassador to support the cultural change to agile.
It was my responsibility to make the IT cost structure of the life business unit in Switzerland transparent. I succeeded, completing my mission. My biggest achievement in the process was my review and validation of the infrastructure contract for our new IT platform that resulted in a 3 million dollar cost reduction.
In the time period mentioned here, I took the opportunity between jobs to intensify my involvement as technical trainer in the domain of IT infrastructures. Actually this engagement for Digicomp started 2001 when I was a co-founder of Digicomp Academy AG and is still ongoing. Currently it is limited to a few training days per year.
Within Helbling IT Solutions I was supporting design and implementation of ERP solutions, with a focus on the technical infrastructure. Helbling IT Solutions was taken over by Circon AG, which today is part of the Crealogix Group. My main achievement was successfully designing and sizing hardware infrastructures for our customers.
I was heading the Microsoft Systems, Network and Security unit until the company was dissolved as Noser Engineering AG took over most units (except our Microsoft business). My biggest achievement was setting up a security audit service and getting for our company Microsoft's recognition as security partner.
I was Responsible for all training, knowledge management and career planning for the insurance company's IT staff in Switzerland. This included the role of principal of the internal IT school with 23 full-time students. The organization was dissolved in 2003 in the company’s cost cutting measures to regain profitability. The structured closure of the unit was my biggest achievement, giving me the toughest time in my career but allowing me to learn a lot about change management.
