At the end of each day I ask myself these three questions: 1. How did I contribute to the success of our customers and our company today? The Danish philosopher Søren Kirkegaard once said: "Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards." Hindsight lets us know if we are moving toward our goal or need to adjust our steps. So why not looking back every day? 2. Whom have I done good to today? I believe, we make the world a better place by many small continuous deeds rather than moonshots. This also includes giving people full attention when communicating with them. Smartphones and distracting thoughts have a break then. 3. What did I learn today? Inspiring conversations, instructive experiences and insights from other fields of knowledge such as psychology, philosophy or neurology are the spice of life for me. All these pieces of the mosaic form a coherent picture that guides me in my decisions. Most of my decisions I make on forest walks away from daily business. My professional background: Finance & Controlling are the roots of my career. I am particularly interested in tools that allow me to see what’s underneath the hood (e.g. Monte Carlo simulations, value driver trees, statistics). Despite my management role, I invest parts of my spare time in the SQL programming of cost accounting and controlling systems. This disciplines my thinking and lets me better understand the key drivers. What else enriches my life? I discovered my love for tea when I was 11 years old. All of us at Ronnefeldt share this passion with tea lovers around the world. Since 2003, the first hour of the day belongs to my Qigong exercises. For many years I was taught this ancient art by a Chinese Qigong Master and I am very grateful for all the good it has done for me and my family.
