When I join the design team the maintenance was 100% manually. Now the task of maintaining is almost 90% automated by the application I wrote. The key activities were updating the design resources as the vendors release new versions for their IP and technology documents and inform project managers and designers about those updates. Now I only tweak the application in order to accommodate new vendors updating system, add upgrade the user interface with new items as the designers or project manages are requesting. Recently I started to create more an advanced tool for extracting statistical information from various IP views, data used to estimate speed, power consumption or other information’s needed by sales persons when contracting the chip or by designers in order to adopt a correct strategy when they place the clock tree.
