As CEO of Messe München, together with the whole team, we are leading the continous connection, growth and transformation of our company. We design and scale trade shows for verticals such as construction, environmental technology, mobility, electronics, quantum technology, and life sciences - in Munich and through our group worldwide. My focus is on shaping what’s next: building meaningful connections for our customers in the digital age of AI. Driving growth and innovation through M&A, alliances and partnerships, therefore redefining what a “Messe” can be in an ever changing world. We aim to create measurable business value (transactions, leads, ROI) together with memorable moments that matter for our customers to build connections. We therefore are acting as true experience architects. I think and act as an intrapreneur and strategist who‘s also driving execution. I see leadership as a movement: bringing people and ideas forward together, with excitement, clarity, curiosity and courage. For me, transformation and growth is not a project, it’s a mindset: listening, connecting, and turning complexity with strategic foresight into clarity. Outside the boardroom, I’m a live entertainment and music lover and a passionate guitarist. Creativity and rhythm matter in leadership. As a pilgrim and lifelong learner, I keep exploring what connects us as humans.
Stefan Rummel and Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer are responsible for the overall management of the Messe München Group. As CEO Stefan Rummel oversees all capital goods and consumer goods shows worldwide e.g. bauma, IFAT, EXPO REAL, IAA Mobility, ISPO, transport logistic, Inhorgenta and ceramitec. His responsibilities also include Corporate Strategy & Development, Corporate Marketing & Communication, M&A, IT, Data & AI, Human Resources, Corporate Governance, Public Policy & ESG as well as Messe Münchens trade fair service operations. He is Chairman of the Board at Messe München India, Messe München Asia in Singapore, MM do Brasil, Vice Chairman at SNIEC in Shanghai and Messe München Shanghai
As Managing Director at Messe Muenchen Mr. Rummel oversees all capital goods fairs including bauma, IFAT, Transport Logistic, Ceramitec, Expo Real worldwide. He is further responsible for Messe München´s IT Departement, all international business and all global M&A activities.
