Experienced head of a reseach institution and researcher with a focus on simulating the behaviour and the damage of materials (CMC, intermetallics, metals, ...) and components subjected to extreme conditions.
Research topics of the institute are: Simulation: - Virtual Engine Platform and Digital Twin of Gas Turbines - Multiphysics and Multiscale Modeling - Physics based Lifetime Assessment of Materials and Components - Development of efficient numerical method in various areas of our research focus Testing: - Test rig to subject materials and components to high temperatures, mechanical loads and chemical attack due to corrosive combustion gases - Rotor test rig to investigate lifetime of engine rotor disks particularly with respect to the secondary air system and sealing systems in the secondary air system - Data Management System to simultaneously collect Simulation and test data to enable validation and data driven simulation We are usually looking for hires in the following areas: - Software developers in different areas - scientific computing, data management, simulation process automation, meta data extraction, machine learning.
