In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Kühne is the group leader of the department of Micro- and Precision devices of the Technical University of Berlin. He finished his studies of fine mechanics and micro technology with the degree diploma engineer in the year 2010. Subsequently he worked at the Humboldt University as a research assistant in the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Berlin as well as a freelance engineer in the field of micro technology, micro fluidics and optics. Since 2012 he has returned to the Technical University of Berlin. There he completed the scientific debate of his doctoral Thesis ”Ultra-precision processes to increase the quality of imaging diffraction gratings” in 2017, after 5 years of work with “summa cum laude”. Since 2013, he has been fully responsible for the lecture and practical training of students of the department. Within his graduation, he acquired a deep knowledge regarding spectroscopy, the manufacture of spectroscopic components as well as micro fluidic devices. Due to his involvement in various research projects related to these topical areas as well as his more than 20-year membership in the German physical society, he has a deep understanding of the implementation of physical principles into technical products as well as a thematically associated network.
