Haarlem, North Holland, Netherlands
My journey began in Haarlem, where my early fascination with computers and digital creativity laid the foundation for my career. Since 2010, I’ve been working at PwC at the forefront of digital transformation within our Assurance practice, with a strong focus on technology, media, and telecom (TMT) and dedication to platform companies. What started as a personal passion with technology has evolved into a career where I combine strategy, innovation, and quality to create lasting impact. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in both national and international settings, including roles at PwC UK and our technical office. I’ve led various initiatives aimed at bringing digital capabilities closer to our people and services, helping to shape the way we work and deliver value. As a leader of a group of digital accelerators in Amsterdam, I’ve launched programs that empower colleagues to use technology effectively in their daily work—ranging from AI and data analytics learning paths to fostering innovation within client teams. This approach has strengthened our market position and contributed to winning strategically important engagements. Quality and integrity are at the core of everything I do. With a strong track record in the TMT sector and internal technical roles, I ensure that innovation goes hand in hand with performing our audit with the highest professional standards.
I worked as specialist Audit Methodology at our National Office in the areas data analytics, use of tools & technology, audit of revenue, IT audit and the use of specialists and experts. In these areas of focus, my role included developing guidance and training for our assurance practice, acting as a facilitator during training, dealing with technical consultations and developing an internal governance process for the development of tools and technology.
As wine enthusiasts we started our own 'hobby' company in 2013. We focused on import and sale of European wines. We specifically looked for small wine growers who produce their wines with the greatest love, pride and care. Several times a year we organized wine tastings to let people discover the delicious wines we discovered. We arranged workshops for companies and private customers.
During my short-term secondment to PwC UK in London I worked on the following projects: - Building an understanding of IT into the core auditor's DNA - PwC UK's 2017 Transparency Report Besides these two projects, I assisted our audit practice staff on consultations and queries related to audit methodology and risk management topics.
