I am a german engineer with extensive experience in testing, mainly in the telecommunications area. Worked at different stages of network switch and user equipment development, starting as a SW developer at a mobile radio test equipment manufacturer, moving to integration testing at telecoms equipment manufacturers and mobile chipset manufacturer. Have in depth knowledge of mobile and fixed networks (LTE, IMS, VoIP, UMTS, GSM/EDGE, SS#7, TD-SCDMA). Extensive experience with different types of testing equipment. Gave trainings on mobile radio technologies worldwide, adapting easily in each environment. Very communicative, interacting often between customers and providers, developers and managers, achieving the optimum solutions for error corrections and error tracking.
LTE Entity SW integration tests on the eNB project: • Definition and development of detailed test cases (e.g. for FDD-TDD Handover) based on internal and 3GPP specifications using UE (LMTS) and Core Network simulators. • Identify, prepare and setup the required test equipment and test bed structure. • Development of automated tests using the Python based test automation framework “Robot”. • Cooperate with developers in “Feature Teams” from the very start of the features. • Analyse test results/logs with analyse tools (TTI Tracer, Wireshark), compile test results and generate test reports using HP Quality Center and Pronto Tool.
LTE SW tests and integration on Intel’s mobile platform projects: • Definition and development of detailed test cases based on internal and 3GPP specifications on the Anritsu MD8480C/MD8430A Standalone/RTD Test system for LTE and IMS (VOLTE/VoIP). • Execute signalling and user plane tests with the Anritsu MD8480C/MD8430A with latest software releases on Intel’s mobile platform target hardware. • Specify new test cases for multi-SIM UEs. • Execution of tests on the CMW500 Multibox and the CRTU-G. • Analyse test results/logs with Intel’s analyse tools (MA logs), compile test results and generate test reports using HP Quality Center and UTP tool. • Cooperate with developers in reporting and analysing errors. • Repeat customer reported errors with debug fixes in close cooperation with customers.
LTE Entity SW integration tests on the eNB project: • Definition, development and execution of detailed test cases (e.g. intra-/inter RAT Handover) based on internal and 3GPP specifications on the Catapult DCT2000 test system. • Execute signalling and user plane tests with Ixia's M500/T600/R10 and Aeroflex TM500 with latest eNB software releases on the NSN eNB target hardware. • Analyse test results/logs with analyse tools (TTI Tracer, Wireshark), compile test results and generate test reports using HP Quality Center and Pronto Tool. 3G Home NodeB & Gateway SW integration tests on the Femto project: • Execute test activities in lab environment (Tektronix G35 or real CN) with different commercially available UEs against the Home NodeB. • Testing of 3G signalling functionality, IPsec functionality, Quality of Service (DiffServ) and O&M functionality of the 3G Home NodeB and the CN-Gateway. 3G NodeB SW integration tests on the HSPA project: • Definition, development and execution of signalling and user plane test cases to test the HSDPA and HSUPA functionality of a 3G NodeB with the Ixia/Catapult DCT2000 test system and real UEs. For all 3 projects above: • Cooperate with developers in reporting and analysing errors. • Repeat customer reported errors with debug fixes in close cooperation with customers.
UMTS SW integration tests on the Next Generation RNC project: • Development of an UMTS NAS and RANAP protocol layer simulation to test the UMTS Radio Network Controller • Development of signalling and load and stress test cases for all RNC related interfaces (Iub, Iu-cs, Iu-ps, Iur, Iu-BC) TD-SCDMA BTS Integration and Test: • Development of a test concept for packet data services deployed via the mobile radio standard TD-SCDMA developed for China. • Identification and specification of packet data test cases for TD-SCDMA.
Senior Engineer on the CRTU-G (GSM/EDGE UE test box) project: • Participation in the ETSI/3GPP standardisation committees regarding EDGE RF and Signalling Tests. • Feasibility studies and system design how to integrate the EGPRS air interface protocols (L1, RLC/MAC, GRR, LLC, SNDCP, GMM, MM ) into the existing GPRS protocol stack of the R&S EDGE signalling tester (CRTU-G). • Design and development of TOM (Tunnelling of non-GSM Messages) protocol using SDL (Veriloge Object Geode). • Technical project presentations for international customers. • Development of EDGE test cases on the CRTU-G.
IT Consultant on the 1nd level IT support: • 1st Level Support for Windows installations and applications including Novell server administration.
