Currently, I am a software development engineer at AWS. Prior to that, I was an associate professor of software engineering with research experience in modeling, analyzing, and supporting complex human-intensive processes. Past/current projects include: - Building a process-model-driven software system with a graphical user interface to provide real-time guidance to human process performers - Modeling medical processes and verifying their requirements using model checking - Developing and evaluating teaching collaborations between software project management (SPM) courses and intro to software development (ISD) courses where the SPM students serve as managers of the ISD students - Eliciting requirements of medical processes - Evaluating several elicitation techniques Teach a wide range of computer science and software engineering courses including data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, software quality assurance, software project management, software engineering in healthcare, and human-computer interaction.
I teach computer science and software engineering courses, including data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, software quality assurance, software project management, software engineering in healthcare, and human-computer interaction. My research interests include improving human-intensive processes, such as medical processes, and evaluating pedagogical collaborations between different courses in terms of student learning and experience.
Performed research on: - online process guidance for reducing the number of human errors in human-intensive processes and for catching errors before harm is done - elicitation, modeling, and analysis of human-intensive processes - process modeling languages and exception handling patterns in processes Evaluated research ideas in case studies from the medical domain.
Developed workflow visualization techniques for automatically generating user interface design suggestions based on a formal workflow model.
Applied the Software Engineering Effectiveness Model (SEEM™) to develop an electronic journaling tool and a hotel reservation system and researched traceability in software development processes under the direction of Dr. Sandeep Mitra.
