Started up programme management office for the EU finance community, with a scope of delivering large-scale initiatives that span across all teams in finance. (Tax, Accounting, Fintech, Transfer Pricing, Business Finance) Delivered a major tax restructuring project encompassing six functional (tech and non-tech) leaders and 150+ individual contributors as well as several key cornerstone projects to support Amazon's geographic expansion drive with world-class finance systems.
Leading a team of four to assure high quality finance support for Amazon EU Business & Industrial category as well as Direct Imports, Private Brands, Exports and Pan-EU sourcing activities. Partnering with the business to assure timely and accurate reporting as well as financial advisory, supporting growth rates of 50%-100% p.a.
EU responsible for Amazon's vendor compliance program - Delivered measurable reductions in vendor-driven cost as well as vendor lead times by enforcing supply chain standards and information communications / data flow between vendors and Amazon. The initiative comprised all five Amazon websites and the complete scope of Amazon vendors across a multitude of categories and sourcing markets.
I joined the Kindle team a few months after the product line had reached the UK as the first European markets. I contributed to setting up the product Supply Chain for Germany and France, managed the Supply Chain launch for Italy and Spain as well as served as the logistics PM for two generations of Kindle products. In addition also implemented the Kindle direct ship program, enabling fulfillment of orders direct from the manufacturer in Asia to customer across the globe.
Within this role i was responsible for a series of post-merger projects aiming at harmonizing the EU operational and process reporting platform across 20 EU markets. The project delivered a harmonized data warehouse that fed from the existing heterogeneous back-end systems and for the first time provided a Pan-EU view on the metrics in focus.
Following up on a consultancy project i decided to stay with the European Operations Performance team, taking the Pan-EU lead on metrics delivery and development. Starting from a set of 20+ different, locally produced reports gradually started centralizing report production, communication and distribution. Successfully migrated all cross-border reporting into the European team and promoted to a project manager role in order to drive standardization of the domestic reporting suite
After university i joined the Deutsche Post Inhouse Consulting team, working within the umbrella of Deutsche Post's post merger efforts. I personally focused on reviewing and re-defining the operational metrics framework across the Danzas, DHL and Deutsche Post Euro Express entities, which led to me being offered a permanent line-management role in this function.
