I’m a DevOps and Data Engineer with a strong foundation in laboratory operations, LIMS systems and full‑stack development. I started my career in the lab, where I built deep domain knowledge in QC, QA, analytical workflows and GMP environments. After one years in my Lab‑IT role, I fully discovered that IT was my real passion. That moment changed my trajectory: I decided to start a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, which I now combine with my full‑time job. This combination accelerated my growth, strengthened my technical depth and allowed me to take on increasingly complex responsibilities. As a Lab‑IT Specialist, I acted as the SPOC for all LAB‑IT topics, covering LIMS configuration, instrument connectivity, reporting, troubleshooting and system integrations. I played a key role in the migration from Unilab to LabVantage, serving as the technical consultant for EDL integration, reporting architecture and database setup. I also supported a second LIMS migration (Unilab → OpCenter) as a consultant for reporting and EDL topics. After this project, I joined BASF’s Data & Insights team as a DevOps Engineer, working across the full data lifecycle. I designed and maintained ETL flows across Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Databricks and EDL sources, built Power BI semantic models, and performed functional analysis with production plants and internal services. This strengthened my expertise in DAX, Power Query, Python, ETL design and data modelling, while also supporting data engineers and contributing to Databricks development. Later, I expanded into software engineering by joining the Alcatras project as a full‑stack developer. Together with the technical lead, I helped rebuild a utilities platform after the vendor went bankrupt. This involved development in Java, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, and a smaller portion of C#. My journey reflects strong adaptability, fast learning ability and the capacity to bridge operational, analytical and technical domains. I now work fully project‑driven, focused on development, engineering and delivering scalable digital solutions.
After the LIMS migration project, I joined BASF’s Data & Insights team as a DevOps Engineer. I worked across the full data lifecycle, supporting production plants and internal services with reporting, data modelling and system integrations. At the start of this role, I also acted as a consultant for reporting and EDL integration during a second LIMS migration (Unilab → OpCenter), providing technical and operational guidance to the project team. My core responsibilities included designing and maintaining ETL flows across Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Databricks and EDL sources, and serving as the technical contact for Power BI. I created semantic models that met business requirements and performed functional analysis through workshops, requirement gathering and azure devops-based follow‑up. This strengthened my expertise in DAX, Power Query, Python, ETL design and data modelling. I also supported our data engineers with operational data flows and contributed to ETL development in Azure Databricks. Later, I joined the Alcatras project as a full‑stack developer, rebuilding a utilities platform after the vendor went bankrupt. This involved development in Java, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, and a smaller portion of C#. This role is fully project‑driven and highlights my flexibility, fast learning ability and adaptability across technologies, domains and responsibilities. As a LAB IT Specialist, I operated at the intersection of laboratory operations and IT systems, serving as the primary point of contact (SPOC) for all LAB‑IT related topics. My role combined technical consultancy, third‑line support, system integration, and project work within a regulated laboratory environment. I supported the full operational landscape of the lab, covering device connectivity, LIMS integrations, LIMS configuration, troubleshooting, and reporting. Any issue or improvement related to the digital workflow of the laboratory, from instrument data capture to result validation, fell within my scope. A major part of my role was contributing to the migration from Unilab to LabVantage LIMS. Within this project, I acted as the developer or technical consultant for EDL (Enterprise data lake) integration, reporting architecture, and general database setup. I also supported the migration team by providing operational insights, validating the AS‑IS situation, and ensuring that new configurations aligned with real laboratory practices. Key responsibilities included: * Acting as SPOC for all LAB IT topics, bridging laboratory operations and IT teams * Providing third‑line support for LIMS, instrument connectivity, integrations, and data flows * Designing and configuring LIMS functionalities, workflows, and reporting structures * Supporting and advising the migration team during the transition from Unilab to LabVantage * Leading the technical setup for EDL integrations, database- and reporting structures * Ensuring smooth daily operations by resolving complex issues and optimizing digital lab processes * Collaborating with QC, QA, IT, and vendors to maintain system reliability and compliance This role required a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills to translate laboratory needs into robust IT solutions.

After achieving a FELASA B certificate in 2017, I went to apply for vacation work wich was Laboratory Animal Science related. I did this on The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson.
I followed the daily routines and did my own small 'research' for my Final Work in the labs of AZ Turnhout.
