Creative, hands-on professional with expertise in developing, curating, interpreting and installing exhibitions. I have worked for a specialized museum for over 24 years on all aspects of their exhibition programming and collections management.
Visual Artist actively showing in the Chicago area with Bert Green Fine Art and in Paris with Christopher Boicos Fine Art. Maintain an on-going studio practice with a focus on found material collage (2005-2015). Conduct regular workshops on personal creativity and collaboration using a collage process. Associate Curator of Art (June 2014- present), Assistant Curator of Art (June 2000-2014). My responsibilities centered on the logistics, promotion and educational programming of the exhibition schedule for the ISM Chicago Gallery. Additional responsibilities include working with the Director and Associate Director of Art on collections issues, including conservation priorities, archival support and research, and coordination of incoming gifts to the collection. The Illinois State Museum Chicago Gallery is a satellite location for the Illinois State Museum in Springfield IL. Research and development of exhibition programming related to the Museum's mission focusing on the art history of Illinois. Exhibitions centered on both the museum's collection as well as external loans. Install and maintain all exhibitions at our site, including packing, handling, mounting and lighting concerns. Maintain and monitor exhibitions for safety and environmental conditions. On-site coordinator with other curators on staff for their exhibitions as they circulate among our four gallery sites. Generate and maintain all files related to loan agreements, condition reporting, and transportation Coordinate and generate all aspects of the exhibitions design program, including labels and educational materials Write and distribute press releases and images for our media list Produce and update social media content for all exhibitions Conduct gallery talks and educational events Foster relations with collectors and donors, facilitate in-coming gifts to the permanent collection. Program performances, workshops and events appropriate to the content and direction of our exhibitions
