As a Mechanical Engineer with over 26 years of experience in consulting engineering, I currently serve as a Principal at Interplan LLC and am a Licensed Professional Engineer with 50 state licenses. I lead the firm’s MEP Engineering Department, overseeing a team of 35 engineers and am responsible for the continued growth, performance, and strategic direction of the department. My expertise spans commercial, retail, and restaurant building design, with a strong focus on delivering practical, cost-effective, and code compliant solutions. I began my career working on large scale commercial projects, including multistory and government buildings. During this time, I developed a strong foundation in mechanical and plumbing system design, gaining experience in the complexities and coordination required for major construction projects. I then transitioned into retail consulting, where I expanded my technical and field expertise by conducting site surveys nationwide and managing client relationships. In this fast paced environment, I successfully handled multiple projects simultaneously while meeting demanding construction schedules and client expectations. For the past 21 years, my primary focus has been on restaurant design and construction. I have led numerous projects from concept through completion, working closely with clients to develop prototypes and scalable design solutions. This experience has provided me with extensive knowledge of plumbing systems and health codes across multiple jurisdictions. I am passionate about collaborating directly with contractors in the field and take pride in delivering efficient, constructible designs that balance performance with cost. I also maintain a strong interest in sustainable green building design and energy efficiency. Looking ahead, I am focused on continuing to strengthen client relationships, driving departmental growth, and further advancing my technical expertise in consulting engineering.

Lead the mechanical and plumbing design for KeyBank. Was the National Lead Mechanical Engineer for KeyBank. Work was primarily focused on Key bank design Standards and remodel and retrofit permit documents. Stream lined document budgets and complexity for quicker construction times and lower cost. Involved in site surveys of existing banks nationally to create “as built” condition drawings. Also involved with design and construction of AT&T building projects. Projects included updating mechanical systems for many AT&T buildings and data centers. Preformed site surveys, punch outs and creation of construction documents. Involved in existing mechanical equipment analyses, determining cooling status and future cooling growth.
Worked on the production of construction documents for multi-unit restaurant clients. Involved working independently within a team performing engineering tasks with researching local building code requirements. Involved with new prototype designs in the field of restaurant buildings. Performed mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing engineering calculations for the development of building documents. Used CAD and other software to make changes per the client request, code requirements, standards, and site/ construction adjustments. Responsible for all mechanical and plumbing engineering in my discipline section of the project, meeting established timeframes, and ensuring total project deliverables exceed the expectations of the client.
I started at M-Retail designing fast paced retail fit out projects. I began learning a lot about the diversity of construction codes across the country and different design methods for mechanical/ plumbing design. As I progressed as a Mechanical Designer I started to manage multi-unit clients and started working more on flagship store locations. Toward the end of my career at M-Retail my work developed toward medium build projects like Strip Centers and Restaurants. I greatly enjoyed my experience at M-Retail.
M Engineering was my first professional full time position after college. I work closely under a great mechanical design team. They helped me gain the design knowledge and skills necessary for my mechanical career. I gained vast knowledge on larger mechanical systems, fire sprinkler systems, plumbing design and storm drain systems. The knowledge gained in this large scale building type set for me a strong foundation to build my career from. It is still influencing my design decision making today.
