  • Epigram - University of Bristol Student Newspaper (1 yr 9 mos)
    • Managing Director
      May 2014 - Jun 2015 · 1 yr 2 mos

As Managing Director of Bristol University's independent student newspaper, I am responsible for the daily functioning of the non-editorial sections of the publication. I manage a team of 20 fellow students who are each in charge of a different aspect of Epigram: distribution, marketing, events and advertising and sales. It is my responsibility to make Epigram as economically successful and popular as it can be among the students. We have succeeded on both counts by significantly increasing our readership and by being the only team to have made Epigram a profitable student newspaper. We have also executed several popular socials for both our editors and writers. The success of Epigram's 25th anniversary ball (March 2014) led to a cross-collaboration of Bristol's media products to create the Media Ball 2015. I have also co-drafted sponsorship proposals for PwC and EY with my colleagues on the team for sums ranging from £500-£1,500.

I was placed in charge of all our social media outlets, including Facebook and Twitter, and aimed to break stories before our competitor (which I did on several counts). Also part of Marketing Team leading Epigram's 25th anniversary gala ball in March 2014.
