Back to old role. Primarily FCC catalyst Tech Service India and few accounts in Middle East. Sales was fun and it was time well spent understand, deal directly with INCO terms, process supply service order start to finish. Never thought I will do this part first hand.
Exciting change, I am asked to do sales function and technical sales role simultaneously for some of my important customers. Front end sales role and Following up with back end salesprocess is fun. Gives control of almost 100% of the process and with technical knowledge, one can add lot of value at both ends. It is also confirms me that FCC catalyst sales or technical role requires correct mix of technical and sales skills with high doses of common sense and general enthusiasm for serving customers.
Responsible for Indian and few Middle East FCCU accounts. Job can be summed up as delivering value to customer by efficient technical service, trouble shooting and unit optimization assistance. Real work starts with ensuring supply of best fit catalyst. Working closely with refineries, offering quick and effective solutions to customers brings in lot of advantages and also creates stronger market position for our catalysts. Another aspect of the profession is the liaison work with various R&D lab's to facilitate exchange of information, with aim to improve catalyst performance and acceptance thereby expanding the footprint of our catalysts in the market. Core functions include preparation of unit monitoring reports, conducting special studies, catalyst trials and providing training to customers. Tend to play important role in introduction and commercialization of new catalysts and additives. Another pivotal function consists of communicating our R&D initiatives to market and channel market leads and requirements back to our company to help fine tune our products and market strategy.
Served in Engineering division of KNPC Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery as Technical Risk Assessment Expert. The key responsibilities inculde, Carrying Hazard analysis & evaluation, risk assessment studies, for Process units & plant modification proposals, evaluate higher throughput operations of process units & other abnormal one-off operations. Prioritize recommendations, follow up implementation status. Studies to identify major hazards in new projects, Plot Plan reviews. Conceptualize Fire and Gas detection requirements for new facilities. Check PSV design and capacities for higher throughput operations. Review of Plant model for operability, accessibility and safe getaway. Prepare enquires for 3rd party studies, set scope, objectives and deliverables for studies. Manage the whole life cycle of study from start to end. Develop/update company polices and procedures regarding risk assessment activities. Assist in Root cause analysis studies, incident investigations, Plant start up review and other safety audits. Liaison across the organization in propagating Risk assessment initiatives.
Member of the nucleus team responsible for FCCU technology selection, engineering, construction, commissioning, initial operation/stabilization. Later responsible for developing FCCU revamp package for capacity enhancement.
Training followed by stints in various process units and technical service department. Prepare monitoring reports, budgets and carryout encon drives to improve plant performance.
