Chartered Engineer (CEng) Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (MIMarEST) Specialties: Niche design and analysis. Laboratory testing of structures. Over 21 years Finite Element Analysis experience (linear,non-linear, implicit, and explicit with various commercial codes - ABAQUS, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, PATRAN, FEMAP). Co-authorship of 24 publications in the areas of tubular joint and pipeline research (published either in International Journals or in the Proceedings of International Conferences).
Eighteen months as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering where my main area of interest was the static strength behaviour of tubular structures and trusses. During my tenure I liaised with a Japanese pipe and tube manufacturer for a new application of one of the company's products that resulted in the setting up of a Laboratory testing programme and technical feasibility study. I was also involved in two further static-strength laboratory test programmes on tubular joints, and the writing and preparation of research publications for International Journals and Conferences.
