About

A prospect generator and technology champion, I've also managed exploration and development programs across Canada and led New Ventures globally. My skill is integrating the best of technology, data and people to identify new opportunity and lower investment risk. Currently prospecting for and invested in—green and precious metals, uranium, oil and natural gas. I’m a firm believer that the strength of a civilization is proportional to the energy and resources it has readily available. Participating in a clean, ethical and low impact Resource Sector is an important way to contribute to modern life and a sustainable future.

Experience

  • Prospector at Energy Dexteritas
    Jun 2018 - Present · 8 yrs 1 mo

Independent Prospect Generator for energy and mineral resources. I came to this through a background in Geoscience. From this earthy core I've added layers of experience in technology, new ventures, business development, strategy, exploration, prospect generation, risk analysis, operations, production, finance, economics, supply chain, negotiations, and ESG. It takes many skills learnt, developed, and applied—to successfully find new resources. Insanely curious, highly pragmatic, yet irresponsibly passionate in the search for the treasures of the earth.

  • Technical Services Manager at Repsol
    Jul 2013 - May 2018 · 4 yrs 11 mos

Geological, Geophysical, GIS and Technology Leadership & Governance in a ~$400M annual development & appraisal program. Corporate Global Advisor for creating a strategy driven Digital Transformation, leading to initiatives spanning upstream operations.

  • Global New Ventures, Exploration & Production at Suncor Energy
    Feb 2003 - Jul 2013 · 10 yrs 6 mos

Assess global exploration, appraisal and acquisition opportunities while balancing geopolitical, commercial and technical considerations. Working with the Prospect Generator model, focused on building a portfolio of oil & gas royalties with outside capital. Personal contribution led to raising $130M. Geological and geophysical vetting of $2B of assets slated for divestment. Identified a resource play on lands slated for disposition. This resulted in a sizable uplift to Suncor and the buyer ultimately created a corporate spin-out and IPO around this idea.

  • Exploration and Frontiers at ConocoPhillips
