My favorite subject at university was chemical process optimization. Today, I'm still obsessed with it, but I've traded reactors for potential. My mission is to solve one of the toughest puzzles in tech: how to scale ambitious startups with world-class, remote-first operations. For Founders & CEOs As the VP of Operations at Torre.ai, I'm at the intersection of cutting-edge AI, global talent, and the demanding reality of the startup world. My job isn't just to optimize processes; it's to build the flexible human infrastructure that allows technology to thrive. I don't just lead teams; I build scalable operational engines. That means having the tough conversations, being obsessed with delivering real value to our clients, and using data to make decisions that truly move the needle. My background isn't traditional, and neither is my approach. For Ambitious Professionals (especially from LATAM) I see you, because I am you. I come from Colombia, built a global career through scholarships and sheer discipline, and I refuse to accept that your location should define your limits. I am living proof that you can lead international teams, embrace a digital nomad lifestyle, and compete on the world stage. Don't let anyone tell you you're behind. My philosophy I believe real feedback is a gift, and true empowerment comes from taking ownership of your future. Everything I do is guided by three core values: honesty, empathy, and discipline. The topics I explore daily revolve around this belief: * High-performance remote operations * Leadership in the age of AI * Digital nomadism as a career strategy * Empowering women & Latin American talent If you're building the future of work, let's connect.
To strategically align with the company's rapid expansion, I directed the consolidation of talent acquisition and candidate experience operations into a unified department. Leading a team of 10+ professionals, including three team leads specializing in automated applicant attraction, customer success, and client tools integrations, we maintain and improve daily the execution of diverse operational tasks, including user support, client coaching, and applicant attraction. Our core objective is to scale operational efficiency in parallel with company growth, driving continuous improvement through the integration of advanced automation and the development of refined processes. For example, we implemented Emma, our AI recruiter bot, which resulted in 90% automation of candidate interactions. Additionally, we forged strategic partnerships that allowed us to increase applicant attraction by 50%+. Currently, we are focused on scaling the operational team to support future automations and maximize client value, further improving our operational capacity.
As our company scaled and integrated advanced automation, I pioneered the client-facing operations department to bridge technological advancements with personalized customer support. We designed and implemented a comprehensive customer onboarding and certification process, utilizing live sessions with a strict follow-up plan, including scheduled check-ins and personalized support, ensuring clients achieved optimal success with our AI recruitment automation tool. We streamlined multiple operational workflows into standardized frameworks, significantly enhancing efficiency and supporting client chat support. Within six months, I scaled the team from one to five, maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. Our team became the central voice of the customer, proactively advocating for feature prioritization to address key client challenges. We achieved a client retention rate exceeding 85% and consistently exceeded strict SLAs, including an average client response time of under 1 minute, and coaching availability within 24 hours of purchase.
I directed a global headhunter team, implementing and optimizing recruitment processes to guarantee high fulfillment rates. We achieved a sustained 75% fulfillment rate, exceeding the market average. This success was driven by: 1) the implementation of automated applicant attraction and candidate communication processes, resulting in a x10 reduction in time-to-fill; 2) the development and delivery of targeted negotiation coaching, including establishing a mentorship program with experienced industry professionals and conducting regular internal training sessions; and 3) the implementation of a proactive client communication strategy. We managed client requests across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. A key achievement was the development of a semi-automated recruitment system that enabled the team to successfully place 60 candidates weekly for a period of three consecutive months. This system, which featured a rigorous screening, follow up and expectations setting process, resulted in an exceptional first-month talent retention rate of 95%, significantly above industry standards.
I was part of the back-end operations supporting sales, I managed payment processing for Grupo Exito, Colombia's largest client, and several other accounts, streamlining financial operations. I designed and implemented an automated processing system using Excel, Macros, and VBA, reducing processing time from one hour to five minutes. This efficiency gain enabled me to train and equip my teammates to implement the same system across their respective accounts. Due to my proactive approach, I was invited to participate in a company-wide operational automation initiative. In this role, I served as the Colombia representative, responsible for system testing, analyzing operational data, and proposing process improvements, identifying and prioritizing key automation opportunities.
This is a non-profit foundation where I started volunteering, focused on social projects coordination oriented to leadership and career development. I had several roles, from Volunteer, Regional coordinator to a member of the Board of Directors for two consecutive periods. We impacted 100+ people yearly with several on-site and virtual projects. Many of these projects got funding from recognized entities such as the Embassy of the United States of America in Colombia.
