I am a recent Siena University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science on the Public Policy track, a minor in Writing and Communications, and a Pre-Law Certificate. Through internship experiences in both Albany and Washington, D.C., I have developed a strong understanding of state and federal government, public policy, and the legislative process. My experiences have strengthened my skills in policy research, legislative analysis, written communication, and stakeholder engagement while giving me the opportunity to work in fast-paced political environments. I am passionate about public service and public policy and am eager to continue building a career where I can contribute to meaningful policy solutions and effective government relations.
I served as a Summer Legal Fellow through Siena College’s Pre-Law Program in partnership with Albany Law School’s Government Law Center. Throughout the fellowship, I conducted legal and policy research for the Improving Interbranch Communication Project (IICP) by reviewing decisions from New York State’s Appellate Division and drafting memos to the State Legislature about how a statute was interpreted by the court. I also worked on a research project analyzing the structure and oversight of public authorities across different states. In addition, I created memos on recently passed New York State legislation for the staff at the Government Law Center. This experience allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of New York State government and the NYS legal system.
As a Policy and Research Intern at Alpine Group Partners, I conducted legislative research and analysis to evaluate the implications of federal policy developments for clients across multiple sectors. I drafted concise policy briefs summarizing key points from Congressional hearings and provided tailored insights to support policy meetings. This role offered a valuable opportunity to deepen my understanding of the federal policymaking process and gain firsthand experience in government relations and lobbying.
My internship at Senator Scarcella-Spanton's office included assisting the Senator's Legislative Director in daily operations. I briefed news and legislation for the Senator's staff. I attended policy meetings, drafted meeting summaries, and conducted research for additional background information for potential new legislation. I administered constituent services by speaking with constituents over the phone and providing requested information and resources. I also performed clerical and other administrative tasks to assist the Senator's staff during the New York State 2024 legislative session. This opportunity provided me with a first-hand look at the New York State legislative process.
