The AUS President is the Chief Exeuctive of the Faculty of Arts student union, a non-profit with an annual budget of $1 million CAD. The President acts as a spokesperson for over 8,000 students in the Arts Undergraduate Society Program, liasing with McGill administration. I manage over 150 employees, as well as a team of Executives who work on finance, events, external and internal support, and advocacy.
Representing student voices, specifically those of arts undergraduate students, at the highest elected level of student government. Challenging the university on present issues, and working on personal projects including gender based sexual violence prevention.
Created manuscript research for publishing on the Canadian eduction system and its effects on Black immigrant youth under the guidance of Dr. Shelly Clark and Dr. Milka Nyariro. Investigated pre and post colonial education systems and their effects on gender dynamics, compiling data and synthesizing findings.
Working with the non-profit Imagine1day out of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as a Communications and Media Intern. - Transcribing and editing stories of internally displaced peoples for donor relations and community understanding - Furthering the foundations of English proficiency - creator of the organizations' accountability to affected peoples (AAP) policy, and editor and contributor to the partnership policy - Social Media Manager, connecting and posting on platforms: Instagram, facebook, twitter
