Dr. Soonmin Bae aims to transform AI technology into meaningful services. To this end, she directed teams on Video Intelligence and Avatar at NAVER Clova and led Vision AI teams for robotics and security cameras at Samsung Techwin. In 2021, she joined KT, where she led AI innovation initiatives, including the development of the sovereign LLM Mi:dm and the advancement of Responsible AI through the CRAIO framework. In 2026, she joined Samsung SDS as an executive in the Digital Factory business, leading Robotics Transformation (RX) initiatives. Her focus is on advancing Manufacturing AI, Physical AI, and intelligent robotics to accelerate the transformation of factories into autonomous, AI-driven production environments. In addition, as part of her commitment to national science and technology strategies and governmental digital transformation, she has been engaged in various advisory committee activities, including the National Strategic Technology Planning Advisory Group, the Presidential Digital Platform Government Committee, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution Committee of Seoul. Prior to her industrial experience, she worked on computational photography and received her Ph.D. and M.S. in EECS from MIT CSAIL and earned her B.S. from KAIST.
