Folks, I took over as the Chair of the Supervisory Board of the World Benchmarking Alliance last year, but am not great at this Linkedin stuff so only just getting around to update my profile here. It's been a tricky #Geopolitical year for us to navigate amidst a challenging funding landscape, political headwinds against #Sustainability, and seismic #Geoeconomic changes, but I am delighted to report that we have emerged the other side, more focused, more driven and more motivated than ever to have a substantial positive impact in shaping the fast-changing world. At #WEF #Davos the #WBA released it's analysis of and data on the real world footprint of the world’s 2,000 most powerful companies, which between them, account for 48% of global GDP, generate $53 trillion in annual revenues, are headquartered in 82 countries, are responsible for 55% of global energy related emissions, and employ 107 million people directly. Over 100 top notch dedicated professionals with nearly 20 #PhDs, 100s of years of experience, and nearly 100 Masters Degrees between them helped turn it into a very successful and impactful launch under the able leadership of the Executive Team of Gerbrand Haverkamp Pauliina Murphy and Charmaine Nagel. I'd like to thank Paul Druckman, the former Chair, Jan Mattson, the Vice Chair, and other members of the Board including Lysa John, Joyce Cacho, Diane Holdorf, Victoria Marquez-Mees, Anthony Cheung and Beatrice Hamza-Bassey for their incredible professionalism, dedication and support in helping WBA navigate these tricky and uncharted waters successfully. And a special thanks to Jane Diplock who stepped down from the WBA board to take over as Chair of the GRI Supervisory Board. We are looking for experienced, motivated, and driven Supervisory Board members to replace Jane and other members whose terms are coming to an end in the coming months. If you are interested, please DM me a few words for what you could bring to the WBA. It's unremunerated.
