Born in El Salvador, Sonia brings a multicultural perspective and a powerful combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial drive, and social impact. She began her architectural studies at Mariano Gálvez University of Guatemala and completed her degree at the New York Institute of Technology in New York City. Furthering her commitment to environmental stewardship, Sonia earned an MBA in Sustainability from Bard College, where she integrated her background in architecture and sustainability with the financial acumen needed to drive high-impact, eco-conscious development. Sonia is a Registered Architect and Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (CSBA), with additional credentials in Solar Electric Design, Installation, and Battery-Based Systems. Her architectural portfolio includes the management of approvals, design, and construction for multifamily and mixed-use projects, as well as landmark brownstones and luxury single-family residences. Notable achievements include: Leading approvals and construction for the adaptive reuse of brownstones in NYC's Landmark Districts. Overseeing extensive renovations and sustainable system integration in New York State residential compounds, some of them operating fully off-grid using geothermal, solar thermal, and solar PV technologies. Administering residential projects with construction budgets ranging from modest budgets to multi-million dollar projects across New York City. Resolving complex contractual disputes and manufacturer claims directly with legal teams, consistently in favor of her clients. Sonia is also the founding member of Wright Management Group, which manages a growing multi-million real estate portfolio of residential and mixed-use rental units in both Upstate New York and Guatemala. Beyond her professional achievements, Sonia is committed to community empowerment. She founded Mi Casita Daycare, a group family daycare primarily serving the Hispanic community, and serves as Treasurer for KThunder FC, a nonprofit soccer club providing high-level athletic opportunities without prohibitive costs.
