Currently focused on sensory augmentation for pilots. My research explores the question: How do we learn and use new senses that have no analog in our current five biological senses?

  • Hardware Engineer at Tulip Interfaces
    Jan 2018 - Oct 2021 · 3 yrs 10 mos

Led systems engineering for Tulip's latest hardware device - chip selection, architecture, schematic capture and PCB layout. Designed hardware to fulfill CE and FCC certification requirements. Managed supply chain and CM in China. Wrote programs and systemd services for custom Tulip Linux Distribution in Yocto.

  • Undergraduate Researcher at MIT Media Lab
    Jan 2016 - Dec 2017 · 2 yrs

RePose Designed a pressure-sensitive fabric using piezoelectric fabric. Created a pressure gradient visualization using processing. Actuated a pump to inflate and deflate based on sensed pressures. Inflated Appetite Participated in IAP course on creating inflated foods. Final project was a clear, glass-like sugar bubble that containe orange flavoured air. This was an exploration of what flavour is and how to create the taste only through the sense of smell.

  • Undergraduate Researcher in the LEES Group at MIT Research Laboratory of Electronics
    May 2017 - Sep 2017 · 5 mos

Created a system to optically send serial signals and music and from a laser remote to a processing and speaker board for use in future classes. Worked with Steve Leeb in the LEES Group to ideate on features, design schematics and PCBs, test and assemble boards, debug issues with signal fidelity and cross talk.

  • Engineering Program Manager at Apple
    May 2016 - Dec 2016 · 8 mos

Directed engineering problem solving with overseas factories and cross-functional engineering teams. Supported OEMs in China during engineering builds. Led qualification of hardware design changes, quality improvements, and new suppliers on multiple product lines (iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPhone 5, iPhone SE, iPhone 7). Volunteered as a hardware mentor during Apple Engineering Technology Camp to support high-school students and helped develop curriculum on basic electronics concepts.
