With an interest and passion for property, prior to starting his own business Michael spent a number of years working within Real Estate at Century 21 to get a thorough understanding of the inner workings of the industry. After a number of years working in the space, Michael and his partner Laurel wanted to start their own business and felt doing so through a franchise would be their best option. Therefore they purchased a Destiny Financial Solutions franchise where they could mentor, advise and broker mortgages for their clients. Michael quickly realised his role was really focussed on stopping clients getting ripped off by many unscrupulous operators in the property industry. Clients would find a property and Michael would dissect to see if it was the right one for them. This more genuine, honest and hands on approach to Mortgage Brokering led to him being awarded Mortgage Broker of the Year for SA and Victoria by AFG the largest aggregator in Australia. However, when providing this advice they often found they were hamstrung by the terms of the franchise. Therefore after 8 years in the business Michael and Laurel decided to sell and then launch The Successful Investor, specialising in their passion for Real Estate investing and advising their clients without limitations.
