Macao SAR
Started as an IT helpdesk operator at Wynn Macau. Now Director of Innovation & Gaming Systems at NagaWorld. 17 years in the casino industry — the operator side and the vendor side. I've worked across virtually every aspect of casino operations: Table Games, Slots, Marketing, Cage, Finance, Surveillance, Junket/Premium, and IT systems. This cross-functional exposure taught me one thing above all: how complex systems actually work — not in theory, but in a 24/7 live environment where mistakes cost real money. That experience is exactly the lens I now bring to AI. A casino never trusts a single control — it separates the one who acts from the one who checks, enforces the rules mechanically instead of by memo, and escalates to a human before things break. That happens to be precisely what an unreliable, hallucinating AI needs to be governed safely: the discipline that keeps a casino system honest is the discipline that keeps an AI honest. I've been putting that to the test in a personal side project — a football prediction system where every AI output must clear casino-style layered controls before anyone acts on it, built with AI by two non-programmers (my systems-and-QA discipline plus a 24-year domain expert), with no hand-written code. Details are in Featured and Projects below. My takeaway: AI doesn't replace people. Paired with real domain experience and verification discipline, it lets us build what wasn't possible a few years ago — which means your industry experience isn't obsolete in the AI era; it may be the most valuable thing you bring. Happy to connect on casino technology, gaming systems, and AI governance.
Leading the modernization of the gaming-technology stack for one of the region's largest 24/7 integrated casino resorts — an environment where downtime or data errors carry real financial and compliance risk. • Led the end-to-end evaluation and selection of enterprise gaming-systems vendors, then directed a ground-up replacement of the legacy casino management platform — spanning slot accounting & player tracking, loyalty & engagement, floor-wide bonusing & promotions, cashless and patron/staff mobile, back-office operations, and enterprise business intelligence. • Architected the data-integration layer across gaming, loyalty, cashless and back-office systems — unifying siloed data, enabling third-party integrations, and turning fragmented reporting into a single real-time view of the floor. • Orchestrated multiple vendors and internal teams through the full project lifecycle — gap analysis, requirements, solution design, UAT, migration and change management — with zero tolerance for downtime in a live operation. • Ran capability assessments of automated / smart-table systems (RFID and computer-vision bet recognition, real-time table analytics, float and compliance management) to shape the table-technology roadmap. • Developed in-house reporting and analytics to complement vendor BI, and began introducing AI into operational systems and workflows — a discipline I also pursue in a personal project on AI governance and human-AI collaboration (see Featured / Projects). • Delivered user training and drove adoption across operations, marketing, finance and floor teams. Focus: casino management systems · player loyalty & engagement · bonusing & promotions · cashless & patron mobile · business intelligence · smart-table systems · data integration · multi-vendor delivery · 24/7 operations.
Owned the casino gaming systems of a 24/7 integrated resort for over a decade — the deep, hands-on foundation I later drew on to lead the property's full systems modernization as Director. • Managed the day-to-day operation, stability and support of the casino's core gaming systems in a 24/7 environment where downtime directly affects revenue and compliance. • Partnered with operations, finance, marketing and IT teams to translate business needs into new processes and system solutions, and to resolve application enhancements and issues end to end. • Led the full project lifecycle for system enhancements and implementations: gap analysis, requirements gathering, application/solution design, user acceptance testing, and change management. • Built deep domain expertise across casino management, player tracking and floor operations — and the processes that connect the gaming floor to the systems behind it. • Led and mentored a 10-person systems team in a high-pressure, 24/7 large-scale operations environment. • Grew from a front-line support role into senior systems leadership — the progression that positioned me for the Director of Innovation & Gaming System mandate in 2024. Focus: casino management systems · player tracking · application support · business process design · full project lifecycle · 24/7 operations · team leadership.
