      As Laboratory Supervisor of the SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic laboratories on board Viking Cruises’ Ocean vessels, I successfully trained and managed a team of Laboratory Technicians to produce Covid-19 qPCR results in a semi-automated high-throughput workflow, while constantly ensuring that biosafety regulations were met. In addition, my tasks included manual pipetting of biohazard material, handling of the laboratory machines and robots, analysis of the raw result data, communication of the results to the medical team and the generation of qPCR test certificates. As the supervisor, it was my responsibility to ensure that every step of the process was executed according to the SOPs and recorded in a LIMS. When problems arose with the laboratory equipment or mistakes were made during the workflow, I decided the actions taken to assure the quality of the generated results. Moreover, I oversaw the decontamination of the laboratory and always made sure the corresponding documentation was up-to-date. Additionally, I was in charge of the installation of new laboratory equipment, ordering of consumables and logistics on board. Finally, I liaised with various Head of Departments to provide a smooth operation of the laboratory in order to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 on board.

    I was involved in all aspects of tourism on Australia's first ever Pearl Farm. Besides working in the Front of House and Back of House of the onsite restaurant, I was responsible for the housekeeping in the hotel area. Moreover, I was involved in implementing Pearl Farm Tours for our guests to educate them about the history of the pearl farm, the biology of pearl oysters and the operation of a commercial pearl oyster farm. The tour included the dissection of a pearl oyster and demonstration of pearl harvest and grading. Last but not least, I worked as a farm hand on board a pearling vessel and cleaned pearl oysters in a high-throughput setting.
