IPAM is an NSF-funded mathematics institute that seeks to bring the full range of mathematical techniques to bear on the great scientific challenges of our time. It sponsors programs that bring together researchers from different disciplines or from different areas of mathematics, with the goal of sparking interdisciplinary collaboration that continues long after the IPAM program ends. In this role I was responsible for half of the scientific activities of the Institute.
Original research in mathematics, resulting in numerous papers and books. Teaching mathematics at all levels of university, from incoming frosh (calculus, cryptology) to seniors (mathematical economics, mathematical finance) to advising PhD theses.
