I was the kid whose teachers had to tell him to let other people get a word in, so it's probably not a surprise that everything I enjoy doing involves me talking or writing. A lot. Having left school unsure what I wanted to do, but knowing that I did not want to follow my mother's dream of me becoming a lawyer, I chose to study history at university for my love of the subject, as well as my steadfast belief that a strong understanding of the past is imperative to building a better future (although I do make sure my degree is as focused on modern history as possible). This came as a big shock to many people in my life who assumed I would study politics, but I make up for this by regularly publishing opinion pieces for The Boar so as to not deprive the world of my thoughts. When I'm not talking about history or politics, I'm probably talking about football. If Southampton are winning, you'll hear all about it, whilst I'm a total nerd when it comes to international sport. My extensive list of articles features an ever-growing sporting component, although I fear editors of all sections are growing increasingly tired of my creative interpretations of word counts. If you could listen to or read my thoughts on any of these issues for hours on end, please reach out. I'm a firm believer in not just loving your work, but working your love. It's what's motivated me all through my educational career and it's what continues to motivate my choices to this day: in my academics, in my extracurriculars and in my social life. I'm enthusiastically looking for any opportunities that really excite me; if you find me somewhere of my own volition, it's because being there is part of what gets me out of bed in the morning.
