With over two decades of experience spanning both the legal and financial sectors, I bring a unique dual expertise as a former Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and a current Consultant with Public Mutual Berhad. My legal career which began in 1998 and extended over 18 years was built on a foundation of five years as a legal secretary—culminating in my role as Senior Counsel. Throughout this journey, I had the privilege of representing clients across corporate, governmental and private sectors. Established liability on breach of commercial contract agreement by the subcontractors for the sum of RM480MIL. b. Established issue of non compliance of Deed of Assignment in financing a project for the sum of RM400MIL. c. Successful litigation on the prepetration and inducement issue of RM18MIL to complete the purchase of Resort. d. Smooth transaction on eviction proceedings in an area measuring 1500 acres. e. Established the claim between the hauler and logistics company on missing copper flakes and iron ores valued at RM2.5MIL.
Collate and examine all evidence to determine advisibility of defending or prosecuting lawsuits. Present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in civil litigations. Analyze constitution, statues, decisions, regulations and ordinance to determine ramifications for cases. Prepare legal briefs and opinions and file Appeals in Appellate Division. Draft legal documents such as wills, deeds, leases, contracts. Conduct trials, argue motions and question witnesses in civil proceedings. Present and summarise cases to Judges. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. Engage in alternative dispute resolution as an alternative forum of dispute resolution to avoid risk and cost of trial. ACHIEVEMENTS a. Successful trial on non procurement of oil consignments valued at RM2. 1MIL. f. Preliminary disposal on constitutional issues on revisionary of Appellate Division.
Collaborative works with financial institutions by providing progressive updates on NPL's. Engage in interpretation of statutory legislation and its provision, rulings and regulations for individuals and organisations. Drafting letters of demands as a formal demand of default. Proceed for recovery/debt collection for all NPL'S actions. Drafting and filing of summary disposal actions and foreclosure proceedings for purpose of recovery. Liaising with government agencies such as land office, department of insolvency, court bailiffs. Engage in preparation of status report for financial institutions periodically. Conduct legal research in providing legal opinion and written submission to Court. Liaising with the Department of Insolvency for bankruptcy and companies winding up matters.
Successful drafting and execution of the following Agreements :- a. Renovation contract on building of additional rooms, roofing and flooring. b. Moneylending agreement and guarantee for the sum of RM500,000.00 and RM1MIL. c. Drafting contract of employment for the position of Office Manager. d. Drafting of Settlement Agreement (Post Judgement) for the sum of RM300, 000.00 and RM700, 000.00. e. Acted as Mediator in resolving disputes. f. Acted as Retainer on issue of compliance with regards to Factoring Agreements for large loans (RM1MIL - RM20MIL). g. Attending to execution proceedings - Bankruptcy, Judgment Debtor Summons and Winding Up.
